TJ Alberto Keeps Triple PSBK Title Dreams Alive With Double Podium Finish At Batangas

With just one round and two races remaining in the Philippine Superbike Championship, TJ Alberto holds a slender three point advantage atop the current standings after taking a double second place finish in the most recent round of the series at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Third in qualifying TJ was able to salvage second position in race one before doing the same in the final race of the weekend but by his own admission struggled to find the optimal set up with the Ducati V4 Panigale.

Points make prizes and this is certainly the case for TJ and the Access Plus Racing team who head to the final round of the championship with a little finger on the trophy, which if they win, will see them become three time back to back Philippine Superbike Champions – an incredible feat.

TJ Alberto:
“Last week we finished round five in the championship. It wasn’t the best weekend to be honest but we basically focused on damage control. We just never really figured out the setup of the bike and we were struggling the whole weekend. I was able to take P2 in both races, but it was a bit of an underwhelming performance. I would have been happier to take both wins but it just wasn’t our weekend. We came close to winning race two but we ended up losing by just a few seconds on the line. We made the fastest lap in race two but the biggest takeaway from this weekend is that we come home still with a championship lead, albeit just now 3 points to second place in the championship with with one weekend to go. I feel it’s going to be really exciting season finale and im really looking forward to it. I will do my best and everything I can to defend and retain my championship title.”
